2566TH VESAK DAY WITH CANCER PATIENTS SERVICE DAY : REGIONAL CANCER CENTRE, AGARTALA

Int'l Sadhananandapala Banavihara Foundation on Monday celebrated the 2566th Vesak Day at Saddhamma Bana Vihara with Peace for the Millenium Rally and Cancer Patients Service Day at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Center, Agartala, as celebrations returned after two years of the pandemic.

Over 500 people, mostly dressed in Chakma Traditional Dress, attended Peace for the Millenium Rally and Cancer Patients Service Day to mark this year’s event, which commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and death of the Buddha.

Monday’s celebrations mark the first time in two years that a public procession of Peace for the Millenium Rally from Chandmari to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Center has been held following restrictions imposed to curb coronavirus transmissions. Buddhist temples and celebrations were mostly limited to online festivities in the last two years due to the pandemic.

The Buddha said: "Arōgyā paramā lābhā, Santuṭṭhiparamaṃ dhanaṃ - Health is the greatest gain, contentment, the greatest wealth".

Int'l Sadhananandapala Banavihara Foundation has been able to mobilize the resources for the Cancer Patients Service Day through the generous support of the 2022 Bangladesh, India & Sri Lanka Food Donors. Because of your generous donations, we could organized the Cancer Patients Service Day and help the patients eat nutritious food supplements for vitamins & minerals.

Sadhananandapala Banavihara Foundation distributed Fruits, Biscuits and Juice to the patients. The distribution of the edible food item has allowed us in making a difference in the community.

Every gift matters and makes a difference in the life of a Cancer Patients.
