At Buddhagaya Bana Vihara, we were deeply honoured to witness a meaningful and inspiring meeting between Most Venerable Nandapala Mahāthera, Supreme Patriarch of the International Sadhananandapala Banavihara Foundation (ISBF), and Most Venerable Junsei Terasawa, senior monk of the Nipponzan Myōhōji Order and an internationally respected peace activist.

This sacred encounter brought together two venerable figures whose lives reflect unwavering dedication to the Buddha’s path of non-violence, compassion, and universal responsibility. Their meeting was marked by mutual respect, thoughtful dialogue, and shared reflections on the role of Buddhism in addressing suffering and promoting peace in the modern world.

Venerable Junsei Terasawa is widely known for his lifelong commitment to peace, interfaith harmony, and non-violent action inspired by the Buddha’s teachings. His presence at Bodh Gaya—the land of Enlightenment—added profound spiritual significance to the gathering, reminding all present of the living relevance of the Dhamma as a force for peace and reconciliation.

The meeting symbolized a convergence of wisdom, compassion, and lived practice, rooted firmly in the Buddha’s noble path. It also reaffirmed a shared aspiration: that spiritual practice must extend beyond personal liberation to embrace responsibility for the welfare of humanity and all sentient beings.

May this sacred meeting inspire renewed commitment to peace, dialogue, and compassionate action. May the Buddha’s teachings continue to guide efforts toward harmony and understanding in a world longing for peace. 🙏
