Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony – Buddha Temple & Sīmā at Buddhagaya Bana Vihara

On Friday, 24 November 2023, a historic milestone was marked at Bodhgaya Bana Vihara, the sacred land of Enlightenment, with the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the Buddha Temple & Sīmā. This auspicious occasion signified a new chapter in the spiritual and cultural journey of the vihara, dedicated to preserving and spreading the Buddha Dhamma.

The ceremony was led by Most Venerable Nandapala Mahāthera, Founder and Supreme Patriarch of the International Sadhananandapala Banavihara Foundation (ISBF). The event was further honored by the presence of the Guest of Honour, Most Venerable Thích Trúc Thái Minh, Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of International Buddhism & Information and Communication of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and Abbot of Ba Vang Pagoda, Vietnam.

Also gracing the ceremony were Shri Sambhu Lal Chakma, Hon’ble MLA from Tripura, and Ms. Pham Thi Yen, Chairwoman of the Yellow Chrysanthemum Club. With deep devotion and reverence, Sangha Dāna was offered to the Mahāsaṅgha, reflecting the spirit of generosity and shared faith.

This momentous event marks a new beginning in the collective journey of nurturing the Dhamma, strengthening the Saṅgha, and preserving sacred Buddhist traditions for future generations.
