The three-month vassāvāsa (rains-retreat) of the Saṅgha concludes with the pavāraṇā (invitation) ceremony, which is in turn followed by Kaṭhina Robe Offering Ceremony. It is a traditional ceremony that has been preserved for thousands of years since the Buddha’s time.
