APPAMATTO SATĪMĀ PURISO DULLABHO;
BUDDHAPUTTO BANA BHANTE ARIYO PUGGALO.
GAHANA-ARAÑÑE VIHĀRĪ DVĀDASA-VASSĀNI,
DHUTAṄGA-SĪLA-VIMALO EKACĀRĪ MUNI;
ASESA-DUKKHA-KHĪṆO BUDDHAÑĀṆA-LĀBHĪ,
TAṂ RATTA-KAMALA-PĀDE SIRASĀ NAMĀMI.
Ever diligent and mindful, such a noble person is rare;
A true son of the Buddha, Bana Bhante is an Ariya disciple.
Dwelling in deep forests for twelve years,
Pure in ascetic discipline, walking alone as a sage.
Freed from suffering, endowed with Buddha-wisdom,
At his lotus feet, I bow my head in reverence.

OUR INSPIRATION
Long ago, the Buddha invited his followers to walk into the world with compassion—to work for the good and happiness of all beings. That gentle invitation continues to guide us today.
THE BUDDHA’S CALL
As the Buddha taught: “Go forth, O Bhikkhus, for the good of the many, for the happiness of the many, out of compassion for the world… Proclaim the Dhamma that is beautiful in its beginning, beautiful in its middle, and beautiful in its ending.”

WHO WE ARE
The International Sadhananandapala Banavihara Foundation (ISBF) was created in response to this timeless message. Registered as a non-profit organization u/s 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 (India), ISBF is rooted in the living tradition of the Buddha Dhamma and works to bring its wisdom into everyday life.
OUR WORK ACROSS INDIA
From Bodh Gaya—the sacred land where the Buddha awakened— ISBF serves as an umbrella organization for Banavihara Centres in India. It provides a shared institutional platform that connects and supports centres in Arunachal Pradesh, Bodh Gaya and Tripura, fostering coordination, shared learning, and a collective sense of purpose across regions.
OUR LINEAGE & VISION
The International Sadhananandapala Banavihara Foundation (ISBF) was established under the patronage of Most Venerable Nandapala Mahāthera, carrying forward the spiritual lineage of His Eminence Bana Bhante, Most Revered Venerable Sadhanananda Mahāthera from which flows a living a tradition of compassion, wisdom, and service. We believe that when the mind is nurtured with wisdom and compassion, positive change naturally flows into individuals, families, communities, and the wider world.
