The International Sadhananandapala Banavihara Foundation (ISBF) organized the 500 Novice Mass Ordination Program from 2–16 December 2024, marking a significant step in nurturing moral discipline, spiritual growth, and ethical values among young aspirants. This noble initiative was conducted in association with the Dhammakaya Foundation and the Sadhanarama Foundation, a sister organization of ISBF.

As part of this historic ordination program, the Universal Goodness (UG5) Training was introduced to complement traditional monastic training with essential human values. Originally introduced by the Dhammakaya Foundation, the UG5 framework provides practical guidance for cultivating a balanced, disciplined, and compassionate way of life.

The UG5 Training focuses on five universal values that support both personal development and social harmony: Cleanliness, encouraging mindfulness in personal and environmental hygiene; Orderliness, promoting discipline and structure in daily activities; Politeness, nurturing respect, humility, and kindness in all interactions; Punctuality, instilling responsibility and respect for time; and Meditation, strengthening mindfulness, inner calm, and emotional balance.

Integrated into the daily routine of the novice ordination program, the UG5 Training enriched the participants with life skills grounded in ethical conduct and awareness. Alongside chanting, meditation, and monastic discipline, the training helped young novices cultivate responsibility, self-restraint, and compassion—qualities essential for both monastic life and meaningful engagement with society.

Through this initiative, ISBF reaffirms its commitment to nurturing a new generation rooted in wisdom, moral integrity, and universal values. The 500 Novice Mass Ordination, supported by the principles of Universal Goodness, stands as a collective effort to foster peace, harmony, and compassionate leadership for the future. We invite all well-wishers to support and witness this journey of transformation, guided by the Dhamma and the shared aspiration for the welfare and happiness of all beings.
